Our research focusses on the role of different diets for human health under real-life conditions in the era of climate change.
The Chair of Public Health Nutrition was established in 2022 in a joint effort by the University Vienna (Dep. for Nutritional Sciences) and the Medical University of Vienna (Center for Public Health). One central goal of the Public Health Nutrition group is to carry out research in support of the transition towards more environmentally sustainable diets. In addition, the team members have research interests in areas such as diet and cancer, diet quality indices, or diet and renal health. The group applies the full range of epidemiological methods and has a strong international orientation, as exemplified by a close collaboration with the Institute for Global Food Security (IGFS) at Queen’s University Belfast (UK).
